Dark Tales
From The Outback
Dark Tales from the Outback is a collection of three short stories. ‘Jack’
is a huge red kangaroo who guided by an aborigine elder Kadaicha, lives
in the spirit world, and because of their relationship ‘Jack’, becomes a
Guardian of the Outback. ‘Kaya’ is a skilled tracker and hunter
who roams the vast, desolate lands of the Outback. Elders warned Kaya
there was an evil spirit which had taken the form of a monstrous
kangaroo, and was driven by an insatiable thirst for blood. He must
confront evil and bring peace to the Outback. ‘The Madness of
Outback's Shadow’ is a dark tale and according to legend, Outback's
Shadow, a kangaroo, was cursed for trespassing into sacred grounds, and
ever since, it roamed the desolate plains, seeking vengeance on any who
dared enter its domain. The story was dismissed as a mere folktale by
most, but for those who lived near the Outback, it was a different
matter entirely.

The Unyielding Flame - A Colliers Tale
In the valleys of South Wales as in many other places, coal mining is an industry banished to the mists of time. But the bravery and determination of many generations of colliers should be remembered and honoured. So many gave their lives either by accidents and disasters or lost to chronic disease. The first short story and vivid images serve to remind us of times gone but not forgotten. The second, Gleision Colliery, is a true account of
the last mining disaster to happen in the Swansea Valley in 2011.

The Seven
Dragons Of Stoneacre
A little over twenty years ago, when I was creating computer desktop
themes and wallpapers, I did a small series called “Dragonlands”.
Looking back, those images were quite awful, but at the time, I was new
to digital art so I think I could be forgiven. Each dragon was given a
name and a little description. There was also the Dynnas, the Dragon
Master and a map of the Dragonlands. Fast forward to now, where my
digital skills have improved one thousand fold and I have a few books
published, I remembered my little series and thought it would be
wonderful to not only create new illustrations of them and give their
realm a name, but to give them a whole book to themselves. I have added
one dragon extra to the original six, because on re-illustrating the
map, I thought that Trer’s Isle needed an explanation. I have really
enjoyed re-visiting this clutch of dragons, and I hope you, the reader,
enjoys what I created for them – it’s what they deserve after waiting
all this time.
