Breeze
lived in a cosy little house in an English village. He was well known
for his elegant, even noble appearance and his lovely nature. He had a
sleek coat and the loveliest soulful eyes.
Breeze
was quite content with his daily routines. He loved basking in the sun,
stretching out on his plush bed, and enjoying the company of his doting
humans. But there was one thing Breeze simply couldn't abide – and that
was rain. The mere thought of it made him shiver with apprehension.
Whenever
raindrops pitter-pattered on the conservatory roof, Breeze would hide in
the cosiest corner of the house, tucked away as far as possible from the
dreary downpour. His sensitive ears could pick up the faintest hint of
rain, and his eyes would widen in dismay. He would refuse to go out,
even for a call of nature.
"Come on,
Breeze," they would say, coaxing him with a warm smile. "It's just a
little rain. You need to go outside."
Breeze,
however, was having none of it. He would turn his head, his long body trembling with reluctance. The idea of stepping out into
the cold, wet world was utterly unappealing to him.
One rainy
afternoon, they decided it was time to help Breeze conquer his fear of
the rain. With a determined glint in his eye, “Hoodad” approached
Breeze.
"Come on,
Breeze," he said, kneeling beside him. "Let's do this together. I
promise it's not as bad as you think."
Reluctantly, Breeze followed Hoodad to the door, his slender frame
quivering with trepidation. As the door creaked open, Breeze hesitated
at the threshold. The raindrops were creating a soothing symphony on the
pavement outside, but Breeze was not convinced.
With
gentle encouragement and a heart full of love, Hoodad stepped outside
first and held out his hand. "See, Breeze? It's not so bad."
Breeze,
sensing his human's trust and encouragement, finally took a timid step
onto the wet patio. His paws touched the cold, wet surface, and he
shivered, but he didn't run back inside. Hoodad knelt beside him,
running his fingers through Breeze's sleek coat, providing comfort and
reassurance.
They
walked together, the rain gently soaking them. Breeze soon realised that
it wasn't as scary as he had imagined. In fact, the cool raindrops were
quite refreshing, and the earthy scent of the rain-soaked grass
intrigued him.
Hoodad
and Breeze spent some time exploring their garden in the rain. Breeze's
nervousness slowly transformed into curiosity and, eventually, into
enjoyment. His fears gradually melted away.
From that
day on, Breeze still had his moments of hesitation when it rained, but
he was no longer paralysed by fear. Instead, he ventured out into the
rain with a newfound sense of adventure, his slender greyhound frame
dancing gracefully in the downpour. The greyhound who once dreaded the
rain had transformed into a more courageous and joyful pup, thanks to
the patient love and understanding of his loyal human companions. |
